Hotel São Jorge

Awesome.

The location and parking are real pluses: it's two blocks from the town center and fairly close to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful, supplied towels, soap, and sheets, and the breakfast buffet had a good range of food. This works best for a night while passing through. It operates like a guesthouse, so you keep your own keys and have more freedom. From the outside it looks immaculate, but the rooms were a letdown: old, uncomfortable furniture, outlets that didn't work, and a very outdated shower that only gave scalding water. At night, the room key doesn't open the main gate, so you have to ring and wait for someone to let you in. Air conditioning costs an extra 100 reais, otherwise there's only a fan. I’d recommend it to people passing through with nowhere else to stay. It doesn’t have enough amenities for a longer visit, and you can probably find a better option for the same price.

We were four people and had a really good stay. The place was great, the service was quick, and breakfast was tasty with a nice variety. I recommend it!

I never ended up staying here. The price was fairly low and it was close to where I was, but since the reviews weren't the best, I went to check the place out before booking. The employee treated us terribly, coming across as extremely arrogant and unwilling to help. We went to another hotel.
