Casas da Vila

The accommodations are decent, but some things need attention. The sheets and pillow had holes, and there were a lot of ants and cockroaches at night. I understand that's part of the area, but an inspection by someone who knows how to deal with it could help.

It was such a comfortable, welcoming place, and really helped me unwind. The experience made a lasting impression on me, and I'll definitely come back. All the staff were polite. Most of the other guests are foreigners. I recommend it without hesitation.

My experience with Casas da Vila in Trancoso was very disappointing. I only learned about the “non-refundable” policy after booking because it hadn't been clearly explained during the reservation process. When I got in touch to sort out what seemed like an obvious mistake, I got no understanding or willingness to help. For a hotel in the luxury segment, I found that unacceptable. It seemed more focused on taking money through questionable booking practices than on offering a fair experience to guests. I'd strongly advise against booking if you don't want to deal with unclear terms and uncooperative management afterward. It's a shame for Trancoso's otherwise charming reputation.

Wonderful accommodations and great service. The comfort was well beyond what I expected, and it's one of the best places I've stayed.
