The place is known as pousada tuica or pousada do bosque, and the lodging and breakfast are both excellent. I recommend it.

They took our payment for the night and then basically kicked us out right afterward. The staff were poorly trained, the service was awful, and they didn’t honor the price agreed at check-in. If you’re in Trancoso-BA, stay well away. A pousada da Tuica is no good.

The rooms were always clean and smelled nice, and there was a night watchman who was available whenever needed. Breakfast was amazing, with a very generous spread, and the staff were great. Tuica is such a lovely person. I highly recommend the place.

I got a confirmation email for my Booking reservation on 24/11, but on 05/12 they called to say they hadn’t received it and had no rooms left. With the reservation only 20 days away, they didn’t offer any alternative. It’s embarrassing that they can’t handle booking sites.
