Pousada Jambo

The room was impressively clean and well organized, and the price was very good for what we got. The owner is attentive and knows which restaurants are both good and affordable, so feel free to ask her for suggestions. We felt sure we'd be well looked after.

I loved it. The pousada was clean and comfortable, the breakfast had a tasty selection, and the owner was a great host.

The breakfast was wonderful, especially the tapioca, don't miss it. The location is also great, right by Quadrado de Trancoso and very close to Nativos. Sil is fantastic and really cares about her guests' well-being. We had such a perfect stay and I'll be back.

We loved everything about our stay. Pousada Jambo is a great deal, with excellent service from Silvane, who really looks after her guests. She's so friendly, and Dona Dó was lovely too. The suites are pretty and comfortable, with good beds and mattresses, air conditioning, a minibar, SmartTV, hangers, storage for clothes, and two huge mirrors for getting ready. It's easy to walk to Quadrado in about 5 minutes, or to Coqueiros, Nativos, and Cabana do Pescador in 10-15 minutes. The pousada is also close to the center, where lunch is more affordable. Cheiro Verde has a varied buffet by weight for R$7,50. There are plenty of other useful places nearby too, including a great bakery on the pousada's street with homemade-fermentation breads called The Bröd, plus a market on the corner, a pharmacy, and restaurants. It's a good option if you're without a car. In low season, Silvane leaves cake, coffee, milk, and tea for guests to have in the morning, instead of a traditional breakfast spread. In high season, there is a regular breakfast table. Her homemade chocolate cake is delicious. Looking at the cost compared with other places to stay in Trancoso, this one is well worth it.
