Pousada Lírio Trancoso

The staff handled everything we asked for really well, and the place was simple but fair for the price. Breakfast was modest, with different savory snacks or cakes each day, and you could order tapiocas and omelets, which were delicious. I did miss having music around the inn, even during breakfast, and there wasn't much shared space, though the house setup covered what we needed. Our first room was very basic; the second had three beds and a mosquito net around the comfortable main bed. The bathroom shower leaked onto the toilet area, so I'd step into cold water when using it at night. The room door did close, but you have to know how to work it since the wood sticks. There is parking right by the entrance. You'll really need to rent a car, since getting to the Quadrado or the beaches without one isn't practical.

The room was attractive, new, and well kept, and the pool was clean and a pleasant place to spend time. The team also provides hair dryers, an iron, and a coffee maker in a shared area. The inn is quite far from central Trancoso, the Quadrado, and the beaches, although getting there isn't difficult. For the nightly rate, breakfast could be a little better. The shower had strong water pressure, but it didn't get very warm.

The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was ordinary. That was about it for the good points. The inn is far from the Quadrado, the Wi-Fi was awful, and my own mobile internet had no signal either. Our bedroom door wouldn't close, and a noise that sounded like a water tank pump went on all night and badly disrupted our sleep. On our last night, after an exhausting day of work, we got back around midnight to find there was no water in the rooms. Not worth it.

The staff were helpful and polite, and the place was clean and really cozy. Breakfast was lovely, clearly made with care, and the Quadrado in Trancoso is nearby. I loved it, no complaints at all, and I'd come back again! 🥰🥰🥰
