The staff at both the hotel and Casa de Juja were really friendly and helpful. My stay was okay, though I expected a bit more from a place calling itself a resort. The hotel's happy hour was well worth it. The breakfast, on the other hand, was average, with few choices, though the options were varied. Room cleaning happens only on scheduled days, and towels and bedspreads aren't changed daily. The shower stall had a lot of signs of use, probably from not being cleaned every day. In room 29 there was no hot water and the stream was very weak, so I had to use the handheld shower to wash properly. The hotel's restaurant was pretty average too, though maybe I'm demanding. The rice wasn't fresh, the vatapá smelled sour, the farofa was very dry, the vinaigrette was just onion, and the shrimp had no flavor.

The restaurant was decent, with a tasty, varied breakfast, plenty of menu choices, and fair meal prices. The pool area is pleasant too, especially with the sea view right in front. It has a bar with in-water stools, tables where you can sit in the water, a shallow kids' section with a slide, and loungers, chairs, and wooden umbrellas. The pool isn't especially large, but it works. The rooms are comfortable, with good quality bedding and different pillow options. Furnishings are new, the decor is simple and pleasant, and the bathroom is a good size with shampoo and liquid soap in the shower. There are also a 42-inch Smart TV, minibar, and hair dryer. Still, the minibar was sparsely stocked, and at check-in we were given only two old towels. There were no sink-side basics like soap or toothpaste. As an inn, it's good. As a resort, it still falls short. The facilities and service are fine for two or three days with young kids, but a longer stay would need more amenities, activities, little extras, and infrastructure.

Tutóia beach, where the resort is located, is really beautiful, and the overall facilities are good. But this feels like an inn, not a resort. The rooms are small for more than two people, housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired, and the shower water is poor, probably well water that's brackish. The service also feels very amateurish. Pool water looked dirty and milky. Casa de Juja was the worst part. The dishes were poorly prepared and bland, took a long time, and drinks didn't arrive with the food unless we kept reminding the waiters. At breakfast in that same restaurant, flies were everywhere because the serving area isn't air-conditioned. I was disgusted and didn't want to eat. Everything here costs too much for what they deliver. Sad.
