The whole stay felt like being in someone's home where we weren't wanted. I was there for less than 24 hours, and leaving the next morning was the best part. I'm glad I booked just one night. Even with an affordable price, it wasn't worth it at all. I'd rather pay more to feel welcome. I stayed at another pousada nearby and loved it, but I'd never come back to this house or recommend it to anyone. Things felt awkward as soon as we arrived. The man and woman were having lunch and gave us dirty looks, as if our presence was a bother. I didn't know which room was ours because no exact details had been sent, and with rooms spread around the house I didn't want to wander around looking. I asked the man there, who seemed to be the host, and explained. He didn't greet us, we greeted him, and he answered rudely. When I asked if he was the host, he said, “There is no host, everyone is on their own here.” Then he asked, “Don't you have the message?” with no willingness to help. Only after that did he say, “Tamara, your room is over there.” He could have simply told us at the start and spared us the awkwardness. We used a dish sponge that was completely dirty and then got complained at. Guests are expected to wash their own dishes, but the next morning the sink was full of dirty dishes, as the photos show. It felt like the rule was only brought up to criticize guests. The trash was overflowing, and the dogs barked a lot. That didn't bother me, but it's worth mentioning. Last night we had to eat dinner in our room because the woman was studying in the kitchen and looked really unhappy, clearly bothered by us. Their TV was loud at night. That was the only time they were more polite, but by then it made no difference after such a bad experience.
