We stayed at the hotel for five days, from 30/12/2025 to 03/01/2026. There were lots of negative reviews, but our experience was mostly very good. Just make sure your expectations are realistic. The setting is beautiful, tucked between the beach and the mountains, and the pool is really nice. Lunch and dinner were tasty and generous, breakfast was good, and the New Year’s supper was impeccable. The drinks were good too. We had a positive feeling about the stay overall, though there were some rough patches. Getting there is difficult. The last few kilometers are along very narrow dirt roads, so cars often have to maneuver to let each other through. That’s a problem for all the homes, shops, inns, and hotels in the area, not just this one. The hotel itself is rustic, so don’t expect much luxury. Our rooms were fine and nothing major spoiled the stay, but one shower was broken, the bathroom was small, and the toilet clogged when the hotel’s water flow was affected by a blockage in the main pipe. We also spent many hours without electricity on two of our five days because of heavy rain. Given the access, service interruptions can happen. I’d like to offer two constructive criticisms to the management. First, the facilities need attention. The playroom and outdoor playground had broken or incomplete toys, and the games room tables and equipment needed maintenance. Power cuts are a recurring problem, so perhaps generators could be considered. Some equipment in our rooms also needed better care. We enjoyed our stay, but these issues make us less inclined to return. Second, the staff were all helpful and willing to assist, but much of the help we needed was because of their own inexperience, especially at the kiosk. Food arrived without cutlery, then nobody could find any to bring us. Orders were forgotten or prepared but never delivered, and dishes were left cooling on the table when we weren’t there. We often had to chase things up ourselves because staff had forgotten or didn’t know what to do. Staff training could help, since situations like these make guests less interested in coming back.
