Pousada Canto do Dado

A car is needed to get to the beaches around Ubatuba and for everyday things like groceries or restaurants, since the village has very few of those. Still, this makes a good base for exploring Ubatuba's beaches, especially the northern ones. The guest house itself has great amenities, including beach chairs and an umbrella. Service and breakfast were both very good, and the staff were amazing.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and had a wonderful stay. The staff took great care of us, and breakfast was excellent. The pousada supplies chairs and umbrellas, which we were glad to discover after bringing our own for the beach. There's also a drying rack for wet beach gear. We drove to Itamambuca with our surfboards and umbrella. It's very close to the beach, but the roads around Itamambuca are bumpy, so take it slow. One thing to know: Waze routed us on back roads at night, and the street where the pousada is felt a little odd in the dark. We felt safe, and once it was light we could see everything was fine. We'd definitely stay again.

I'd stayed at Pousada Canto do Dado several times before the pandemic, and now came back with my family to one of the suites in the newer section. It was lovely: thoughtfully decorated with a beach feel, clean, and well organized. They cleaned and changed the towels every day, which I really value at a coastal hotel. Breakfast was included and always generous and tasty. The owners and staff were the best part for me. They were kind, cheerful, and worked hard to make the stay relaxing. I'll keep staying at Canto do Dado when I visit Ubatuba/Paraty, and recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable, clean, fresh-smelling place.

The garden is beautiful and gives guests a bit of privacy as they move between the rooms and shared areas. Getting to the beach via the river was always easy, either on foot or by boat. We came as a couple for Carnival and found the accommodation great, with delicious breakfast and helpful service from the owner and staff. It's a peaceful place for anyone who likes being close to nature. Besides Itamambuca Beach, I recommend visiting Vila de Picinguaba, Ilha dos Couves, Ilha de Prumirim, and Praia da Fazenda. For food, try Rancho do Jardel at Praia do Estaleiro. We'll definitely be back.
