Pousada Por Do Sol

I can't recommend Pousada Pôr do Sol on Toninhas beach. Comfort and especially cleanliness were disappointing. The mattresses were hard and uncomfortable, the bath towels were worn out, and there were no face towels. Rooms were cleaned, and towels changed, only every three days. They didn't even empty the bathroom bins, so rubbish was left sitting there. The Wi-Fi didn't work and the TV had limited options. The room air conditioning was good. Breakfast was missing a lot: there weren't even enough napkins, glasses, or cups, and the breakfast area wasn't cleaned. Other guests told me about loose toilet bowls that smelled of sewage and broken beds with defective mattresses, which made me even more concerned. This stay left me with bad memories. I hope the inn changes its practices. When we raised complaints, we were told they were always full anyway. I hope this account helps someone avoid the same unpleasant surprise. The rooms were nicely kept and had both air conditioning and a fan, and the bathroom had hot water. I can't really comment on the pool, though it always looked clean. You can walk to the beach from here. The owners were very attentive, and the place has a nice feel. Breakfast was very good, with fruit, fresh juices, and delicious cakes. I also appreciated that the parking is inside the inn.

For anyone planning to spend most of their time at the beaches, this place is satisfactory overall. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning was great, breakfast was decent, and the parking was excellent. The location is fair, though the road leading to the beach is in terrible condition. Reception was very disorganized, and there was rarely anyone there. We also had trouble with yellowish water and with the Wi-Fi, which was poor and didn't work throughout the property.

I never even got to stay there. I booked through Booking on Sunday night, then called the inn on Monday morning and spoke with two people, Rodrigo's mother and an employee named Juliana. They both confirmed my booking for the 17th and 18th, explained how Booking worked and how much I needed to pay, and gave me the account number and the company's WhatsApp so I could send proof after making the transfer. I did all of that, but at 4:10 that afternoon the owner, Rodrigo, messaged me to say there were no rooms. That was completely disrespectful. I asked for my money back the same day. He says he made the transfer, but I've been asking for proof and still have no money in my account. Terrible!
