The beach opposite the hotel looked ugly and polluted, and the sea-view room was awful: I could see the ceiling instead of the sea. They charged me too much. The hotel is old and costs far too much for what it offers. The air conditioning was noisy, and the TV had no internet or Netflix. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The location in Ubatuba and the beautiful sea view make Pousada Porto do Itaguá a lovely option, whether you're looking to relax or spend time with family. The room felt cozy and well organized, and the cleanliness showed care in all the details. Staff were polite, attentive, and happy to help. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful, and varied, a nice way to start before heading out to explore Ubatuba. The pousada also has a pool, a barbecue area, indoor parking, a sauna, and other amenities. It's a pretty, peaceful place, and I had a comfortable stay.

The room smelled strongly of mildew, which would be a serious problem if you have asthma or bronchitis. The air conditioner seemed prehistoric and didn't work. The hotel feels badly run down, with rust and old things everywhere. One barbecue area is being used for storage, and the other was disgustingly dirty. The breakfast was very basic and didn't match the pictures. The room also wasn't what the Booking reservation photos showed. When we arrived, they said there was a problem with Booking and asked us to cancel on our phone, offering a room upgrade if we did. We naively agreed, which meant we couldn't review the hotel on the platform afterward. That would explain its high rating there. I don't recommend it.
