The staff were kind and attentive, which was the only good part of our stay. The inn itself badly needs upkeep. The pool was so covered in sludge that I couldn't bring myself to get in, and the bed sheets looked grimy. We had to change rooms twice. The rooms are old and poorly maintained: the first had a terrible TV picture and a bathroom that smelled like sewage. After we complained, we moved, but the next room smelled strongly of mold. I tried using my perfume to cover it, but it didn't help. Fixing the facade and reception isn't enough, the rooms and pool area need proper maintenance too. I know the building is old, and that alone wouldn't have bothered me if even the basics were taken care of. This was the worst stay of my life. I wouldn't recommend it or come back.

The pool looked clean and was being tended to by two different people while we were there. I’d seen complaints about a green rim and dirty water, but that wasn’t what we found. Everything was tidy, clean, and well organized. We arrived on February 23, 2026, and I’m writing this on February 24, after one night. I came prepared with sheets, towels, toilet paper, a pillow, and a blanket because of the negative comments, but we didn’t need any of it. Our sheets were clean and ironed, there were two bath towels and one hand towel, and the bathroom had liquid soap by the sink and shower. The air conditioning worked perfectly. The TV had only a few channels, though we were able to cast YouTube from my phone and watch comfortably. Wi-Fi was good, the room was fairly spacious for a couple, and despite my rhinitis I haven’t had any issues. I saw no sign of mold. Everyone, from reception to the cleaning staff, was polite, helpful, and attentive. The kitchen and breakfast were great too, with a generous spread and delicious coffee. We’re staying three more nights. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the beach. The only downside, and it wasn’t the inn’s fault, was construction next door. The workers started making noise early, unloading a truck at 7:30 a.m. On the bright side, it got us up early for that lovely breakfast and a full day at the beaches. We had hot days with rain only in the afternoons, even though the forecast had shown heavy rain all day. We come to Ubatuba every year, and this inn will be on our list again. The bad reviews didn’t match our experience at all.

The best part is how close it is to the beach, just a two-minute walk to one of the city’s best. We’ll definitely be back. We stayed four days in room 25. The room was clean and smelled fresh, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the air conditioning cooled well, the shower was hot, and the minibar worked nicely. When we left for outings, we left the key at reception for housekeeping. Each time we returned, the sheets had been changed, fresh towels were there, and the bathroom trash had been taken out. The outside galleries and access corridors were also always clean and fresh smelling. I arrived two hours before check-in, and the receptionist welcomed me warmly and let us leave the car in the garage while my wife and I went to the beach. Breakfast was hearty and very good, and the kitchen staff were especially friendly.

We were five people, four adults and a three-year-old, in room 16. The reception staff were helpful, the gardening was fine, the walls were in good shape, and the little mammy room was okay. The minibar was new and the air conditioning worked well. Still, the place seems to have gone a long time without maintenance. Water barely came out of the shower, and the temperature was either freezing or scalding. The shower enclosure was literally falling apart. The bunk bed slats were broken, so we fixed them ourselves, and the hanger rail was broken too. The sheets were very low quality, and the cleaning and room tidying we requested fell short. The pool area’s covers were badly rusted and full of holes. The breakfast room couldn’t seat even half the guests from the inn’s 26 rooms. There’s potential here, but some changes are needed to make it okay.
