We booked a room for two days, a month before arriving in Brazil. The night before check-in, they emailed saying our reservation had been canceled because our credit card was declined. We called the card company, and they said the hotel hadn't even tried to charge it. They canceled without a valid reason and gave away our room just hours after the email. This is the worst kind of business. They take advantage of foreigners and advertise rooms at different prices, so if someone is willing to pay more, they just cancel your booking and give the room away. There's no accountability at all. Now we're in Brazil with nowhere to stay. Don't let this happen to you.
