The photos don't match what's shown on the profile. There wasn't enough French bread at breakfast, the plates smelled like they needed a more thorough wash, and the thermos was dirty on the outside. When my husband finished his coffee, there was a clump of grounds at the bottom, which suggests it needs maintenance. The room had no bin for everyday rubbish, and the bathroom bin was broken and lidless. The toilet was unstable and its lid was broken, and there was mold along the bedroom baseboard. We weren't expecting luxury, but we paid for what was agreed. The host was very friendly, as was the cleaning woman, but there aren't enough employees. The gate also stays wide open all the time, which raises a safety concern. This inn could work well, but right now it doesn't. A lot of maintenance is needed.

My family and I were welcomed warmly, and the breakfast was simple but more than enough for us. The owner was very kind and attentive. There are some things that need attention, though. We accidentally shut ourselves out of the room with the key inside. They didn't have a spare, so it became a whole ordeal. Someone had to climb up the outside to our second-floor window to get in. The room was clean, but had several moldy spots. It had a “hot tub” that was only for show because it didn't work, and the strong sewage smell made things worse. It would also be helpful to have electric kettles in rooms for guests with babies who use bottles, so they wouldn't need the private kitchen. I think the maintenance issues could be improved.

Ubatuba was under a rain alert on the date of my stay, and the highways were blocked, so I couldn't get there. I contacted the accommodation to arrange a new date but still haven't received any reply. I lost the money I'd paid for the booking, and they marked the stay as if I'd been there. If you run into a problem during your stay, don't expect them to resolve it or even respond. I tried reaching them through every channel and got nothing. If that's how they handle things after a booking, imagine the rest.
