Pousada Rural Pavão

The inn’s scenery is beautiful, but our stay fell short of what we expected. We rented a chalet and a room, and neither had a heater. When we asked to use the fireplace, we were told there would be a R$ 35,00 fee. There also weren’t enough outlets in the rooms, which made charging phones and other electronics difficult. Breakfast choices were limited, and the bread was hard. We felt the guests could have received more care and attention, and that both the facilities and service need improvement.

It was an uncomfortable stay in a very cold city, and there was no heating in the rooms. The bed in our room was extremely small. One day, rain came through several leaks and ran across the room. We asked to switch rooms, and they did accommodate us.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. It didn’t match the photos, and when I raised that with the person who greeted us, she became very offended. I believe she was the owner. My stay was awful. She kept messaging me on WhatsApp about my complaints, so I went to reception and asked her to stop. She made a scene and told my family and me to leave, which was absurd after we’d traveled for hours and had a baby with us. It was the start of the evening, so finding somewhere else at short notice was a huge problem. She even said my breakfast would be bread and water. Imagine paying for a stay in advance, arriving to find it unlike the photos, and then being told that. I recorded everything and contacted booking, where I’d made the reservation. booking resolved the situation, and we found a last-minute place and left, but the whole thing was deeply upsetting. After that episode, I worried about my family’s and our car’s safety, and felt she might do something to us. I have everything documented so I can take the appropriate steps. Places like this should be made to close.

The owners were so kind and treated us really well. It’s a lovely place that captures the rural feel perfectly.
