The Wi-Fi was very weak, and there was no 4G or phone signal in the area. Heavy rain on the first day meant we couldn’t even watch TV, so we had no way to stay in touch. The connection improved a little on the second day but stayed unreliable throughout our visit. Even using Waze to leave the cabin was a challenge. We’d booked the cabin with the hill view, but were shown one facing the opposite way when we arrived. The host said all the hill-view units were occupied and that the cabins were otherwise identical, apart from the view, of course. That’s why we gave it four stars. The bathroom was roomy, and the gas shower worked really well with lovely hot water. There was also an electric heater, a microwave, and basic utensils for simple meals. Getting there meant taking a dirt road, but it was an easy drive. The bedroom was smaller than it looked in the photos, with nowhere to hang coats, which made keeping things organized a bit awkward.

It was lovely and quiet at night, perfect for sleeping, and we really enjoyed our stay. We had the family chalet with two bedrooms and a large bathroom. The gas shower was excellent. There was air conditioning, though we used the electric heater, which kept the place warm enough.

The place itself is really beautiful, and there are other great chalets around, but I wouldn’t recommend this refuge. We’d already paid for the nights and cleaning fee when we arrived, and the person in charge didn’t mention any extra pet charge. Later, his wife messaged to say the cleaner charged another 100 reais because of our pet. Since we’d listed the pet when booking through Booking.com, I think that fee should have been made clear before we arrived. Also, all the glasses had lipstick marks on them, so we had to wash them before using them. The experience had some lovely parts, but those things bothered me.

The neighborhood was very quiet, and the suggested breakfast place, just nearby, was really good. The accommodation is simple but has everything a couple needs, and the shower water was excellent. Our hosts explained everything carefully and were there to help. They also gave us great tips for places to visit and restaurants.

The host was friendly and very attentive, and we paid an extra 50 reais for our pet to stay. He enjoyed wandering around the grounds. There’s a little herb garden with mint, oregano, and basil, plus lots of lavender plants. We liked having a fire with our very nice neighbors. The fire area had wood and hand sanitizer available, with cushions for the benches. There’s also a hose, a grassy shared space behind the chalets, and gravel over the rest of the grounds. The property is close to the main road, reached by a dirt road. Our cabin looked out over a field with a beautiful sunset. There are three chalets: two with two apartments each, like ours, and one for families. We had no neighbors during our stay, so I can’t say how well the rooms are insulated from each other. Check-in and check-out are self-service. Our room felt a little cramped, which is why I’m giving four stars, but it had plenty of comforts: two windows and a balcony, a retro-style electric heater that looked like a fireplace and warmed the room well, a kettle, coffee maker, sandwich press, two-burner electric stove, microwave, dishes and pans, salt, sugar, coffee filters, coffee, a new sponge, and detergent. The large bathroom had a roomy shower, liquid shampoo and soap, and very hot gas-heated water. The kitchen tap also had hot water.
