Ocean Flat, at Prudente de Morais 1033 on the corner of Maria Quitéria, gets the balance right: you have the privacy and independence of an apartment, with attentive, warm service that feels like a boutique hotel. The support and everyday details made things feel easy throughout our stay. The flat is well kept and thoughtfully designed, with a calm, discreet feel despite being right in the heart of Ipanema. It worked well for a short visit or a longer stay, and the location is hard to beat. Comfortable, polished service without losing the feel of a private home.

The beaches are beautiful, with long stretches as well as smaller, more secluded spots nearby that feel open for exploring. You can also admire plenty of islands and cargo ships out in the distance. Great beaches all around. I really recommend going with friends and family.

We rented a flat from Wesley. It was small but really nice, with a lovely balcony and a sea view. The shower pressure was incredible, better than at my house! The bed was lovely too, just divine. I loved it. The location is great, with lots of excellent restaurants and bakeries within walking distance.

I don’t know if this is an issue throughout the building, but the apartment I stayed in was really hard to sleep in. The upstairs neighbor made a lot of noise walking around and moving furniture. On top of that, water dripping from the upstairs air conditioner landed on the bedroom unit and was really bothersome at night. We rented it for New Year’s, and on one of the days I couldn’t sleep in the bedroom because of all that constant noise.
