A real disappointment from start to finish. I was told my reservation had been canceled because I hadn’t shown up, even though I had gone there and paid. I’d been offered a different room after its guests canceled, but my reservation on the site was never changed to reflect that room. Then I was left without a room at the hostel and put out on the street on December 31, 600 km from home, with my partner and nowhere to stay. There was another problem late that night: at 1 a.m., I had to climb up to the second floor and reach through the window of my first room to get the key from reception and open the door. The staff were asleep, and guests aren’t given keys. You’re expected to be back by 11 p.m. because they need to sleep. That restricts your freedom to come and go. Every other hostel I’ve stayed in had a 24-hour reception. Sadly, I can’t consider this place a hostel.
