I was treated like dirt because of my skin color, and nearly five years later the experience still affects me. This happened on 19/11/2021, when I went to Vilhena for an exam for a public service selection process I had passed. I had booked in advance over WhatsApp, but didn't have a photo. At check-in, they said there were no rooms left, even though the hotel was empty. I showed them our WhatsApp conversation and they reluctantly put me in a room. While I was still at reception, two white couples arrived after me and, miraculously, there were rooms available for them. I called to ask, and there were rooms available. The attendants were simply racist.

The breakfast was great, with lots of variety and good quality, and the staff were attentive and helpful. The hotel is also in an excellent location, which made getting around for my outings much easier. When we arrived, though, there was no water when we went to shower, which was a bit of a hassle after the trip. Even with that setback, the good location and service made the stay worthwhile. The water issue could use some attention.
