Xquisite Suites

The pictures online must have been taken before the storm in October, because my stay looked nothing like them. There was no microwave, the beds were hard, and the AC made loud noises. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

The view was the only good part. The room wasn’t cleaned properly, even though we were told we couldn’t enter early because housekeeping had just been in at 12. The worker I contacted was very rude. Trash.

The whole resort was spotless and well maintained, and the staff were professional while still being welcoming and accommodating. They treated us like family.

The harbor is well protected from the elements, and Knowles marine is there if you need fuel or a hand with anything. I cleared customs at west end, though Sunrise is also a port of entry if you want to come straight here. The boat was docked right outside my room, and yellow fin tuna were on the ledge just off the harbor shore. Great for a quick fishing getaway. The room was clean and felt safe, the staff were very friendly, and it was great value. I’m on the WiFi now, which is really fast. I’ve made several VoIP calls back to the states with no lag either way, so I’ll be back. There’s no food on site, but they’ll call you a cab. Lucaya is a $16 taxi ride away, though Sunrise Marina and some local restaurants are much better. Google maps had the wrong location for sunrise when I checked, but it may be corrected soon. If you can find the old Running Mon Marina in GPS, that’s the spot.
