Exuma Yacht Club Resort & Marina Limited

The Exumas have beautiful water, and for anyone who wants to stay in Georgetown, this marina and hotel is conveniently close to buggy rental, shops, a liquor store and a grocery store. Georgetown itself isn't our cup of tea, though. As seasoned Bahamas travelers, we thought Ms.G and Capt. Lee were the best parts of the establishment. There are several electric hookups and water. The guest bathrooms by the marina have two toilets and two showers total. In our opinion, they were dirty, and the dock master had to unlock them. We found them locked when we wanted to go early in the morning. A shopping cart was available on the dock to move belongings, but it wasn't a dock cart. Fuel is available, but the quote we got didn't include taxes, so it cost significantly more than expected. You also have to stay overnight to buy fuel. There's no ice at the marina. We had to cross the street to the liquor store and paid $17.50 for a 25-pound bag. The water taxi runs in and out day and night, rocking the boat and bringing many people onto the docks. We had fish and chips at the restaurant and didn't like it, and many menu items weren't available. The whole area smelled, with trash everywhere. A man was raking and trying to clean the grounds, but it felt like a losing battle.
