The Cove Eleuthera

The staff made the place special for us. Everyone was kind, hardworking, lighthearted, and clearly wanted us to have a great stay. Wallace drove us from the airport, Jarrid was a funny and great security guard, and the lovely women at the front welcomed us and checked us in. Noah gave us snorkeling gear and checked on us when he couldn't see us. Oman drove us to Queen's baths and had us laughing the whole way. Chika, Marvin, and a great guy from India whose name I can't spell waited on us at meals. David, Lavelle, Isaac, and others helped with anything we needed. Housekeeping left fresh flowers, refilled our water, replaced wet towels, left chocolates at night, and turned on the lights so we could find our way back after dinner. Thanks for treating us like family. I wish I could remember everyone's name. We can't wait to return. The food was fresh, healthy, and delicious, from bread with homemade jam, fruit, and organic eggs to overnight oats, fish tacos, sandwiches, burgers, grilled mahi, pan-fried grouper, and sushi. Frozen drinks were made with fresh ingredients, not the syrups used in the states. There was beer and wine too, but I stuck with pina coladas and margaritas. The views from the rooms and grounds were gorgeous, with other beautiful beaches nearby. The place is close to North Eleuthera airport, safe and gated. Rooms had great coffee, comfortable furniture and bedding, strong water pressure, and beautiful soaking tubs. The manicured lawns and gardens included an ocean-view infinity pool, quiet places to sit, a nature trail, gym, spa, a bar out on the point, and a fire pit. We could snorkel, kayak, paddle board, swim, relax, or go on tours. While snorkeling we saw tropical fish, sea turtles, sting rays, sand dollars, sea stars, and conch. It was so beautiful when we arrived that I literally cried, and cried again when we had to leave. This is a special place: upscale but casual and beachy, peaceful, with plenty to do. When I asked the staff where they vacation since they already live in paradise, they said New York, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and LA!

I love the Cove. It feels like a private home, with cottages scattered around the lush property and along the beach, expansive lawns, and no towering buildings or miles of concrete. Sitting between two sea coves gives the beaches a calm, sheltered feel for swimming or paddle boarding. Every staff person was friendly and helpful. If I designed a beach resort, this would be it.

The Cove's grounds are beautifully kept, with tropical landscaping and paths leading to two private white-sand beaches. The whole place feels secluded and peaceful, more like a sanctuary than a hotel. And the grouper sandwich at lunch is absolutely bomb. What really made it world-class was the staff. Everyone we met was genuinely friendly and invested in making our stay good. They seemed to have a real 'finding a yes' approach. On our first night, we weren't sure about the sauce on a fish dish, so our waiter brought a sample from the kitchen to try. The next morning, when we mentioned wanting to visit nearby beaches, a staff member drove us in his own car and came back to pick us up. That kind of help made us feel like VIP guests in someone's home. The accommodations, food, and service were all top-notch. My wife and I are already planning to come back next year for a longer stay. If you want a high-end Bahamian getaway where they treat you like family, The Cove is it.

We loved our stay at this beautiful little resort, with rooms right on the beach and Caribbean views everywhere. We hardly left, going out just once to a local restaurant and once to Harbour island. The resort has a restaurant, a gym we used every day, a spa where we had massages, and two bars, one inside and one on the bluff. Paddle boards and sea kayaks were available daily, along with sunscreen and a sea water swimming pool. We’ll come back!
