The final bill was wrong too: they charged me for five nights, May 12-16, even though that was four nights. A few calls later, they fixed it. But the bigger problem was the marina coordination. I booked a month ahead because I needed to fly home from Marsh Harbour for a medical appointment. I arrived on schedule around 3:30 p.m. on May 12 and, after checking with the dock master, tied up in slip 224. At the office they told me I had to move, but couldn't give me another slip. I went back at 8 a.m. on the 13th and waited outside until someone arrived at 8:30. My 9:30 flight was too close to move the boat, and I was getting into a taxi when they called to tell me to move it. I'm the licensed captain and had tried several times to get a new assignment before leaving. Andrew, who I was told owns Abaco Beach Resort, was rude and unprofessional to my crew and the boat's owners. He threatened to call the police and have the boat towed, and verbally harassed the mate and the owner's wife. He also demanded that my mate put a 65-foot yacht in a slip that wasn't designed for it. My mate isn't the captain. With Andrew's attitude and the poor handling of slip assignments, I will never stay at Abaco Beach Resort again.

After 25 years of boating, I've never had this happen before, and I won't be coming back. I called to ask about bringing our dinghy in for lunch, since my wife also wanted to shop for an outfit at the gift shop. They quoted $110 just to tie up the dinghy, which seems ridiculous, especially with the marina nearly empty apart from a few catamaran charter boats. Boat Harbour used to be an incredible resort and marina. Sadly, things have changed.

We haven't stayed at the resort, but whenever we're in Marsh Harbour we enjoy stopping at its lovely restaurant. The food is great, the staff are friendly, and the service is excellent. Brunch or lunch is always a pleasure.

The food and service were good, and everyone was so nice. We visited by boat and had a great time both in the hotel rooms and aboard our boat at the marina.

The marina is a nice addition, and the resort itself is small but pleasant. Service was good too. Still, the rooms cost way more than they feel worth. We paid over $600 for a “deluxe” room that was just a basic, average hotel room. For comparison, I'd expect something like it to cost about $170 a night in the States. In other Caribbean countries, that price would be closer to an all-inclusive rate. I'd only recommend this hotel if average accommodations are what you're after. Don't pay extra for anything beyond a basic room.
