Courtyard by Marriott Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach

The location is on Bay St., Nassau's main street, with a busy public beach and lots of vendors just across the road. Shops are also a 5-15 minute walk away. The staff were attentive and friendly, and our clean room was very nice. It's a great 3+ star hotel. There are two pools, both clean and well maintained. The restaurant food was good. I especially liked the marriott garden salad and veggie pizza, though service could be slow sometimes. I only ordered from the menu and didn't try the breakfast buffet.

The fresh paint gives the place a nice lift, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Housekeeping does a good job. Leaving a note if you want extra items helps. The beach is a nice stretch right across the road. Go before the cruise ships arrive if you want the best seats. Jumico(spell) at the pool bar deserves a special mention, he's the best. Mr. Francis, the manager, is helpful and receptive.

The room was updated and clean, with no issues. My friend and I had to leave a 5-star resort with a private beach because of weather delays and couldn't afford to stay there for the two extra nights, so we came to Courtyard Marriott already disappointed. We got beach towels, but they were smaller than a typical shower towel. We were told Junkanoo was just across the street. At 3pm, the beach was deserted and covered in trash. When we sat in some chairs, a man came over saying we had to rent them, then said his “boss had just went home so he'll let it go.” He kept hanging around, repeating that he was “letting it slide you're good ladies,” as if expecting a tip. Once he left, we walked farther along the beach, where the tiki bar was playing really offensive music and lighting up. I wish the Marriott had given us better directions. Today we had a much better time farther down by the Margaritaville hotel. We managed two days here. It's an average place to sleep if that's what you're looking for, but our trip had started as a luxury vacation.

Crystal checked us in during a really busy time and stayed professional, making sure we were looked after. Our room was clean and ready for us, and the cleaning crew did a great job throughout the stay. The location is wonderful, within walking distance of downtown and the beach.
