Graycliff Hotel And Restaurant

The great cliff restaurant is an easy walk from the port and downtown, on a fun street with umbrellas hanging overhead. Inside, the atmosphere is really cool and makes it a fun place to eat. The food and service were top-notch, and even the bathrooms were very nice. Definitely worth a visit.

The prices are insanely high, but you get what you pay for. I had such a great time at this restaurant, singing songs with the piano man, and the food was really good. I’d highly suggest going.

The dinner service was professional and charming, and they were ready with recommendations and happy to accommodate our needs. The food and drinks cost a lot, but they’re good. I also found the dining room tablecloths and service plates rather cheap-looking, with a kind of Mexican vibe that didn’t feel elegant. I hope they redo them soon. I always make time for this special place when I visit Nassau. I love its historic charm and atmosphere, from the portraits and the big room with soft lights behind the bottles to the cocktails and piano. It feels like somewhere worth preserving. This visit started poorly, though. We were six people and arrived an hour before our reservation because I wanted to show my friends the place. I thought the welcome staff might tell us about it, suggest a tour, point us toward the wine cellar after dinner or the gardens and pool, but there was no smile or welcome at all. We sat by the piano and ordered cocktails, which took a while. No one seemed friendly or interested in helping, so we just waited until dinner and then went to our table. It was a missed chance to make my friends feel welcome, and they may not be keen to return next year.

We arrived a little early and took a stroll through the garden, as the pleasant maitre’d suggested. Keith looked after us graciously, with delicious sandwiches and sweets, plus French press coffee and fruity Caribbean tea. It was a beautiful, historic, romantic place, and an easy enough walk even for people with hip replacements. A lovely surprise for my wife.
