The staff were warm, and housekeeping did a great job. We had a lovely time celebrating my Mom’s birthday, and plan to come back after the construction is done. A couple of things made this visit less convenient. Breakfast was hectic in the one hall used by the whole hotel, and it was a long walk from The Cove. I missed having breakfast at Perch like we did last time. The pool bathrooms were also a long walk away because of the construction, though I think that should be sorted soon. This was our second stay. The Cove pool was missed, but the replacement pool they offered was still really nice. Getting pool seats could be better: you have to wait in line until 9AM, and if you arrive later you may be stuck with beach chairs or have to buy a cabana. More chairs or seats reserved for guests in their rooms would help.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and getting around the resort was easy. It looks spread out in photos and other reviews, but in person it’s very walkable. Food is expensive, which was my one general complaint. The service and thoughtful little touches really stood out. They did turndown service every night and left treats in the room. Those small things were unexpected and much appreciated. We loved our stay.

We barely felt a need to leave the resort, since there was so much to do. We tried several restaurants throughout Atlantis, and everything we ate was delicious. The staff were kind and accommodating wherever we went. This was our first vacation with our five-month-old daughter. Our room had plenty of space for a crib without feeling crowded, and the location worked really well for a trip with a baby. We can’t wait to come back.

The Cove made it easy to go from relaxing to doing something fun. The lazy river is a short walk away, though the Dig, casino, and main Royal towers take more of a hike if you expect to go back and forth a lot. Our room, 18-814, was modern, spotless, and much bigger than I expected, with a view of both the ocean and resort that looked like a screensaver. The exclusive Cove pool and the lounge chairs on Paradise Beach were major reasons we chose to stay here. The pool felt upscale without being stuffy, and we could relax on the beach without searching for a spot. We stayed at The Cove at Atlantis in September 2025 and were really impressed. I’d definitely stay again.

The room we were given, 2830, was on the second floor, tucked behind trees, and not what we wanted. At check-in the desk tried to sell us an upgrade. I explained our Black Friday booking included a complimentary upgrade if available, and that I have Marriott Titanium status with over 89 nights a year in the network. The employee’s manner changed, and he stopped pitching the upgrade, then said nothing was available. We were stranded by the East Coast snowstorm and needed to extend. The desk said they couldn’t change the reservation and told us to book online, where the minimum was two nights. I brought in my laptop to show the issue; the employee then said she could adjust it to one night and apply a trip interruption rate. After I booked, I was told we’d have to email quality to get the night refunded and the rate applied. We also couldn’t keep the same room, so we had to check out at 11 AM and check back in at 4 PM. The replacement room smelled strongly of cigarette or cigar smoke. Housekeeping confirmed the smell and promised a room change by 5 PM, but we heard nothing. At 8 PM the desk said they couldn’t move us. Our three children, ages 5, 3, and 2, had to sleep in that smoky room overnight. That’s a serious health concern, and it should not have been dismissed. I spent about $5,000 on the original reservation, $4,000 during the week, and another $1,400 plus $750 for one night in a smoke-filled room, over $12,000 total. This was deeply disappointing. I felt the staff were trying to nickel and dime us instead of helping, and there seemed to be no management on site. Staff didn’t seem to know what to do, and even simple changes felt like an infuriating car buying process where someone had to phone around for an answer. With Atlantis’s reputation, I didn’t expect customer service like this. It would put us off returning.
