The wrap-around porch quickly became one of our favorite parts of the house, whether we were having morning coffee or enjoying the evening breeze. The place was spotless, comfortable, and full of Bahamian charm. We had AC and Wi-Fi, and Rock Sound was a convenient base without feeling crowded or touristy. Stores, restaurants, a gas station, the clinic, and the pharmacy were just minutes away. Most beaches took 15-20 minutes to reach, and the nearby turquoise water was stunning. We also explored Harbour Island and Spanish Wells, and went to the Conch Festival in Deep Creek and the Pineapple Festival in Governor’s Harbour. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful beach house in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, and would happily return.

The wraparound veranda is lovely, and the cottage is equipped with just about everything: a great kitchen, washing machine and dryer, beach chairs, umbrellas, and snorkeling gear. The bedrooms are very spacious and each has an adjoining bathroom. The location was a little disappointing, though. A former restaurant stands in ruins nearby, and its crumbling outdoor terrace gets in the way of the Caribbean view. There’s no direct beach access either, which is why I’m taking off a point. Aside from that, I can warmly recommend the cottage.
