The staff treated us like royalty, and we really appreciated how friendly everyone was. We arrived exhausted after our wedding and were welcomed into what felt like paradise. Our villa was right by the pool and ocean, with a spectacular balcony view. Service at the pool bar was quick, and everyone there was so kind. We loved the jerk chicken and Mac n cheese from the jerk shack on the beach so much that we went back for seconds. The rum in my piña coladas was delicious, too. A big thank you to Carlton at the beach bar and Shelly at the seastar spa, who did a phenomenal couples massage. We stayed at Grand Isle Resort for our honeymoon and got exactly the rest we needed. The space and privacy made it easy to settle in at our own pace, and the golf cart was handy for getting around the resort and nearby areas. The concierge can arrange boat or catamaran trips, and I'd recommend taking one. The sandbanks and nearby cays are a must in Exuma. I still remember the excellent cucumber gin and tonic at the bar. Our villa felt more like a private home than a hotel, with a kitchen, living areas, and large bedrooms. It was well maintained, spacious, and had excellent views, so it seems well suited to longer stays or families. Emerald Bay is a highlight, with a wide, quiet beach and that turquoise Exuma water. There are separate family and adults-only pools. The resort is in Emerald Bay, a short drive from the airport. We were welcomed by name with a drink, and arrival felt warm, efficient, and personal. Both dining spots were good, one more refined and one casual, with solid food and service. The spa is worth trying if you're staying a few days. We visited Grand Isle Resort & Residences while staying in Exuma, and found it a well-rounded island experience. I'd recommend it to travelers after a relaxed, residential-style luxury stay.

We came to Grand Isle Resort just to have lunch at Palapa, but the place won us over as soon as we arrived. We were staying in a VRBO and decided to move so we could enjoy the resort. The reception desk had a room that fit our needs, arranged early check-in, and had it ready by 1 PM. We could also rent a golf cart by the day, which made it easy to get around. The two large pools were beautiful and relaxing, one for families with children and one for adults. Our room was immaculate, comfortable, and stocked with every amenity we could think of. We kept having breakfast and lunch at Palapa, then had a delicious dinner at 23 North on our last night. From beginning to end, the stay exceeded expectations. The resort is beautiful, accommodating, and full of amazing people. I'd recommend Grand Isle Resort for a relaxing, luxurious getaway.

The beach and villas were a real draw for us. The private beach has clear blue water, and the tastefully decorated villas are comfortable. The resort feels like an oasis in an island that is still not very developed. The staff were consistently welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and made it easy to arrange activities. The Exuma Water Sports half-day tour was a highlight of our trip, so don't miss it. For the price, breakfast should be included, and the restaurant choices could be better. Still, we highly recommend staying here if you visit Exuma, since options elsewhere on the island can be limited. Three to four days seems like the right amount of time to relax and explore without feeling restricted. This is definitely the best place to stay in Exuma.
