The staff were very friendly, including the woman at the bar, the chef, and the lady at reception. I’d give the lodge another try next time I’m in Gabs, but management handled my stay very poorly. The lodge has an older wing and a newly built one. After management double-booked the rooms, I was put in the old wing. The room itself was smart and clean, with good Wi-Fi and working air conditioning, so it was comfortable. But I only found out the next morning that the shower was broken. Management knew there were plumbing problems and hadn’t told me. They said they’d move me to the new wing the next day, then didn’t, and booked other guests in instead. That evening they tried to call a plumber, who said parts needed replacing. Management avoided me the whole time and sent messages through the polite woman at the desk. They never spoke to me directly or apologized. Very disappointing.
