Wiseman and Latorn made the horseback rides a lot of fun, and they were helpful the whole time. The horses were in good shape and clearly cared for. I came for a horseback riding safari and had such a great time. The kitchen staff and food were great too. I’d love to go back next year. The whole experience was exceptional.

Nico brought so much to our time in the bush. His knowledge, the stories and insights he shared, and the conversations we had helped us see the surroundings differently. He was thoughtful and passionate, and it was a privilege to explore with him. Camp Kalahari is tucked into a beautiful natural setting, with a peaceful quiet that made it easy to disconnect and take in the landscape.

The pool at sunset was amazing, and the bathroom felt spacious and luxurious for a safari tent. The bedroom area, though, was a bit small. Getting here by car means a long drive on a bumpy dirt road from the highway. We ended up at Camp Kalahari after a fire cancelled our booking at another affiliated safari lodge. During a stressful time, the staff were exceptionally kind and warm, and made us feel well looked after in such a remote place.

The meerkats were a real highlight, and the wildlife in the area was amazing. Our guide knew so much and had plenty of stories to share. Everyone at Camp Kalahari was welcoming and professional, and the food was great. We had a fantastic time, and I’ll definitely come back.

Our guide Nico was very friendly, and the accommodation at CK was appealing. But we left disappointed, especially given that this was the last part of our honeymoon in Botswana. We came to this quieter Kalahari destination for its main activities, including the meerkat colonies, salt pans and stargazing. We were especially keen on stargazing and visiting the national reserve, and had told the staff about that. Both activities ended up scheduled for our departure day. We had repeatedly asked for the itinerary but weren’t given a briefing, so by the time we learned the plan, there was little we could do. I understand coordinating these activities can be complicated, but I expected more flexibility and better organization from a high-end camp like CK. It’s a pity the stay ended this way.
