The food was a real letdown. Breakfast and dinner were very poor, and there are no shops or restaurants nearby. The facilities also felt dated, which added to an awful stay during our Africa trip. We were asked to switch rooms after we had already unpacked. They said two younger women couldn't sleep well in a twin room, though others in our group had booked single rooms. We’re 69 and 76, and had to pack everything again and move to another twin room. Only afterward did we learn the toilet there had no seat, so I had to use the shared guest toilet. They said they would reduce the rate, but charged the regular amount at checkout and refused to refund the difference. Don’t trust this lodge.

The grounds were neglected, with empty ponds and dead grass, and the towels and bath mats were extremely old. The wifi was terrible, too. There was no hot water. When we raised it, the owner said she showers in cold water every morning and that I shouldn’t complain. The power went off at 9:30 every night, and she wouldn’t turn it back on until 5:30am. She was rude and unaccommodating, and treated her staff poorly. The place was very outdated. Never stay here.

Botlhale did a good job. From my first call to ask about availability through check-in, the service was very good, and they were willing to offer a good rate. It’s a two-star place, so don’t expect Sun City. But you’re close to top-tier Chobe National Park, and they can arrange game drives. The Chobe and Zambezi rivers meet nearby, so you’re right in Africa’s splendor. One request: please pave the driveway. I hated tracking fine sand into the room.

Friendly and quiet, and easy to spot right by the road. The service is excellent, with WiFi, cable, and comfort all around. There’s a self-service bar, plus a fridge in every room for your little something if you like a nightcap. Welcome.

We got back to Kasane extremely late, and the staff waited for us and made us feel at home. I really enjoyed staying here. The chalets were clean, spacious, and easy to settle into. Thank you to everyone.
