Rustiek Hotel

The property itself is lovely, with modern finishes, new smart TVs, good air conditioning, a nice pool and garden, and river views. But staying several nights was frustrating, especially for the high price. Tabisu was the one consistently reliable staff member. They kept us informed when dinner was delayed and made sure we had takeaway breakfast for our early game drive. The rest of the staff gave us conflicting answers, including whether drinking water was free, and our restaurant orders were messed up every time. One night, staff even woke us to ask for our remote so another guest could use it for their TV. Reception also struggled with basic questions about taxis and airport transfers, saying they'd get back to us but never doing so. When we paid, one staff member asked whether we'd figured out how to get to the airport yet, which only underlined how little help we'd had. We felt like an inconvenience, not like guests who'd been there for a few nights.

Dinner under the stars was a lovely way to end each day, and the game drives and boat cruises brought incredible wildlife sightings. The staff were friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about the area’s wildlife. With rooms right on the Chobe River and a location that’s hard to beat, Rustiek Hotel made for a magical safari stay and went beyond what we expected.

I stayed here with my family in December, and that enormous XXXL bed in our family room was so convenient for us. I’d never seen one like it anywhere else 😂 The hospitality was amazing, and the hotel’s right by the shopping center, with a riverbank and breathtaking sunsets nearby. I hope the service is just as good when I travel to Kasane again.

The rooms felt quite small, but the food was really nice and the staff were helpful. A nice hotel.
