We came for three nights in December 2025 and paid an extra $500 to switch our original booking to a waterfront apartment. The power kept cutting out in the house about every ten minutes, and they couldn't fix it. There was no hot water either, and the apartment was quite dirty. Once it was getting dark and the electricity went out again, I said we'd move back to the room we'd booked originally. They put off the refund, saying they'd handle it on our departure day. We left for Namibia, and the manager then said the bank didn't open until 9 a.m., so they couldn't return the money to the card. They promised a transfer that day, but we still haven't received it. We work for our money; we don't print it, and we're not leaving that much with people we feel have lied to us. I've written to the Botswana Tourism Office so they know about our experience. I don't recommend staying here. Look for another place.

What made our four-night stay difficult was the insects inside the lodge. There were visible gaps around the windows and doors, and we found at least six large spiders indoors, possibly huntsman spiders based on image identification. I know insects come with the bush, but I think guest lodges should be sealed properly. There were no mosquito nets, and the spiders left me on edge throughout the stay. The rest of the experience was lovely. The villas and grounds were always clean, and the whole team made us feel safe and at home. Andrew, Todd, O’Neill, and the restaurant staff were friendly, polite, and so helpful. Andrew took us on a game drive and safari boat tour. He knew so much and really tried to help us see as many animals as possible. Both trips were incredible. The resort also arranged other activities and helped us sort out transport to a local village.

Orribele at breakfast was warm and welcoming, which was the bright spot of our stay. We were visiting Chobe National Park, and our room, number 16, was spacious and seemed well furnished, but it needed better upkeep. The bathroom light wasn't working properly, the living room light fixtures were dangling, shower water spilled into the bathroom and bedroom, part of the hob didn't work, and the Wi-Fi was terrible. The reception staff member seemed indifferent when we arrived and gave us no information about the property or its amenities. The place was self service, with just two small bottles of drinking water and a limited number of tea bags provided. We had to buy more. Given the heat, they could at least provide enough water for the length of a stay.

We were there for two nights to visit Chobe National park, and they arranged both activities for us. The game drives and river cruise were excellent, with a good price for the quality. The rooms were large and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ station. There's a grocery store next door, but it doesn't sell alcohol, so you'll need to drive or take a taxi into town for that.

Rooms are roomy and comfortable, with everything you need, and the location is great. Room 19 is a good pick if you want impressive river views.
