We enjoyed staying here. The staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was worth the price.

It’s quiet here, and the modern plumbing was in good working order. The doors all locked securely, even the entrance with its magnetic lock, and the windows had mosquito nets. The rooms also had good furniture and fittings, dishes and cutlery, a kettle, and a hairdryer. For 100 rubles a night for two, the two-room suite is a bargain. It’s a 27-minute walk from the train station, with Sovetskaya Street 5 minutes away and Gogol Street and its lantern alley 7 minutes away. An excellent hotel in the city center. Highly recommended.

The standard room has two rooms, a spacious bathroom, fridge, and kettle, so the hotel is decent enough for a night. The water was shut off one morning while I was showering. It didn’t last long, but getting caught with soap on is quite a moment. The service felt stuck in Soviet times and uninterested. Staff talked about personal things on the phone loud enough for the whole floor, then interrupted their gossip to ask, “Which room are you looking for?” That was rude, to say the least. There are seven light switches in the room, but just two outlets, tucked way out of reach. I’m grateful they found me a room, though if you want a positive experience, I’d look elsewhere.
