Irina Sinitskaya, the hostel director, treated me rudely, and I wouldn't recommend staying here while she is in charge. I checked in around 17:00 on 14.03.2024. A kind Ukrainian woman met me and let me in. I knew the people there because I'd stayed at this hostel in early February 2024. I left my bags by my bed and lay down. About 20 minutes later I started a serious phone conversation with a friend. After 15 minutes Irina came into the room and smiled at me. I told her I was in an important conversation and would come see her later. She nodded and left. Ten minutes later she returned and demanded payment. I said that was fine and I'd finish my call and come over in five minutes. She said no, I had to pay right then, and claimed I'd been on the phone for more than an hour, though only about 10 minutes had passed since she left. I gave her 40 BYN (= €13) instead of 30 and said she could keep the extra 10 BYN. She didn't like that, threw the money at me, and rudely told me to get out of her hostel as soon as possible. I was shocked. How could someone act like that and not care where I'd go that evening or how I'd find somewhere else to stay? There was no reason for it. Thank God I had a friend I could ask to stay with. Shame on people who make the world worse. By the way, I'm attaching a picture from my stay in Jan-Feb 2024.
