Hotel Belarus Travel

Breakfast became a bit of a feeding frenzy at 0700hrs, when coach loads of people all came down at once before leaving at a set time. I found that rather unappetizing. Otherwise, this was a very good hotel. It’s modern and within walking distance of downtown Minsk. The reception staff were helpful and spoke English. On the ground floor there were several shops, a bar and a restaurant that also served breakfast. The coffee bar by reception was handy and friendly, and the shop sold sweets, snacks and alcohol as well as the usual souvenirs. The elevators were modern and fast. My room and bathroom were clean and adequate, with most facilities available except tea and coffee. The Panorama restaurant on the top floor was very good, though it can get crowded if there’s a reception.

The city view was lovely, and the hotel is by a park, about an easy 10-minute walk from the center. Check-in was quick, and Ekaterina was very helpful even though we had a few extra requests and were a little complicated. The recently renovated rooms were a bit small but absolutely fine, and the bathroom was clean and well arranged. Breakfast was really good, with options from continental and English food to sweet cakes and porridge. Staff kept replenishing things even near the end. There were modern coffee machines and tea too. I was very satisfied with the stay, especially at such an unbeatable price.

For a three-star hotel, it deserves five stars from me. It has A/C, TVs, amazing views and tasty food, and I found it much better than four-star hotels in Spain. The location is very good, the rooms are nice and clean, and the cleaning staff are professional. Reception could be more welcoming and smile more.

The spa is a must see, with an incredible Soviet style swimming pool that’s relaxed and great for chilling out. This is by far the best hotel in Minsk, right in the city center and on a small hill, so the room views are all great. Unfortunately, I couldn’t access the restaurant at the top while I was there.
