I spent a week at Kismet in a cabana right by the beach. There was a constant breeze and not a mosquito in sight, and the sunrise was beautiful. There's a lovely private spot to sit by the water. Trisia was so pleasant and cooked us wonderful dinners with lots of love; her kitchen was spotless and neat. I met some wonderful people there, and the location is divine. Free bikes were available, and the cleaning lady came every day. I'll really miss this place, Trisia, and Elvis. Katya

Kismet's atmosphere was unmatched, and the owner, Tricia, is the coolest. She made us the best breakfast ever. We had the best time and can't wait to come back!

We booked this cabin for two nights expecting a rustic stay, but left after one because the bedding wasn't up to standard and we were worried about room security. The cabin could only be locked manually from outside when leaving. No keys were provided, so technically anyone could enter at any time. When we pulled back the top sheet and comforter, we found a significant amount of sand and debris at the foot of the bed. The pillowcases were stained with sweat and blood. The pillows seemed years old, yellow, lumpy, and smelly. We suspect the bedding hadn't been changed. Past reviews said the host could be passive or confrontational with guests, so we thought it best to raise the issue through Air BNB customer support rather than speak with her directly. That turned out to be the right move. We packed our things into the car in the evening and left the next morning, hoping to cancel the second night. The cancellation wasn't confirmed, and the host hadn't yet been told about our concerns. About an hour after we left, she messaged asking if we were coming back because our things were gone. Since the cabin doors were shut when we left, we felt she must have invaded our privacy to know our things were no longer inside. The host agreed to refund the second night, but that came with strings attached. For 12 hours straight, my partner and I received messages and didn't respond. She made excuses for the stains, claimed the sheets were clean, sent a photo of new sheets that seemed meant to make us regret not staying for them, and sent an illegible message implying our feelings were invalid. Very unprofessional. The shower was cold too. I would have skipped writing this Google review, but she kept nagging us during our vacation, so people should know what they might be getting into. For now, I'll hold back the photos we have of the stains she denies were there.

The pictures give you a good idea of what a stay at Kismet Inn is like: colourful in every way, and great value for money. Tricia, the owner, is welcoming and sweet, and makes you feel like family in a no-nonsense, authentic way. Don't expect a luxury resort, but do expect to feel at home from the start. I'd absolutely come back.

Tricia is a sweet, funny owner and really helpful with suggestions for what to do and where to go in Hopkins. The house is beautiful, with incredible decorations that give it a cool atmosphere. Rooms have double beds, fans, and mosquito nets, so they're just right. There's a lovely terrace with chairs and a hammock, perfect for enjoying the ocean breeze. The house is right on the beach and a little outside town, which makes it peaceful. You can borrow Tricia's two bikes and be in town in under ten minutes. Would really recommend ❤️
