Captain Jak’s staff were first class, from the front desk through to the deck hand. Their dive boat was the best I've been on, and the crew were professional and attentive. We did Glover Reef (5*) and silk Caye/ Moho (4*). The sunsets from the dock aren't bad either! We stayed five nights in April 2026, and the accommodation was excellent: quiet, comfortable and spacious. It's right in the middle of town, with just a 20 yard walk to our scuba and snorkeling tours. We'd 100% stay again and do repeat tours and dives.

The islands were beautiful, and snorkeling around the Cayes was a highlight. We saw sharks and rays at one spot between them. Captain Jak’s had a nice boat that made for an easy ride, and the captain, guides, and chef were all friendly. There were five staff looking after 14 guests. I’d mentioned being vegetarian when I booked, but lunch wasn’t really suited to that. There was rice, salad, and chicken, so I ate the rice and salad. I’m not sure if that’s typical for vegetarians or if it was because I forgot to confirm the day before. Either way, remember to reconfirm dietary needs even if you gave them when booking.

The staff went out of their way to help my sister, who has mobility issues, on both trips. Pablo deserves a special mention. He was the best! We did a full day snorkeling and swimming with nurse sharks, then another full day at the Mayan Ruins and cave tubing. Both tours were excellent. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure everyone had a great experience. 10/10, I recommend this company.

We felt safe the whole time, even with our 3 and 7 year old along. The guides know the land and animals, and ours explained everything in depth. The tours were well organized, clean, and friendly. On the Monkey River trip we saw lots of crocodiles, birds, and iguanas, then stopped along the river to visit the howling monkeys. They have plenty of excursion options, and we also rented a golf cart from them. Service was perfect, with drop-off and pickup where we were staying. For the Monkey River tour, don’t wear dark clothes. I did, and the mosquitoes were awful. Bring closed-toe shoes and good bug spray. If you attract mosquitoes like I do, take easy-to-slip-on pants and long socks for the forest part. We were fine on the boat, but I wasn’t prepared for walking in the jungle.

The captain kept the ride smooth and safe, and everyone aboard was well looked after by the friendly, attentive staff. We stopped at three snorkeling spots and saw colorful fish, stingrays, nurse sharks, squid, and plenty of coral. Lunch was BBQ chicken on Moho Caye, and it was really tasty. One thing that could make the trip even better: have a guide bring a GoPro and share photos or video with guests afterward.
