As someone from Belize, I usually give local vacation rentals five stars because I like supporting local owners. This stay was extremely disappointing. The first night, a tree fell onto power lines, leaving us without electricity, water, working toilets or showers, or AC in 100°F heat. There was no backup generator. Later, another outage caused by wiring mistakes left us without basic utilities for hours. The support from concierge Gineli Flores was unacceptable. She offered no real solutions, and after I expressed frustration about the repeated outages, she said she would stop communicating with us. Our only options were to pay extra for a smaller unit or take a refund that would take a long time, even though the island was fully booked. The property is not prepared for emergencies and lacks proper guest support. I can’t recommend staying here until major improvements are made.
