The view was great, and we liked having several food options across the street. It’s just over the bridge from the busier parts of town. We stayed six days in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo. The rooms seemed recently freshened up, there were plenty of clean towels, and we had enough toilet paper, soap, and other supplies for the whole stay. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the linens were clean, and each room had a mini-split AC unit. Check-in and checkout were both simple. We’ll book here again.

We had a decent stay. The rooms were spacious and nice, though the bathrooms could be better and the showers felt dated. The location was convenient and the view was beautiful, but sargassum in the area caused a strong smell outside throughout our stay. It took a while to get used to, and it seemed to be just this section of the island that smelled that way.

The rooms were really clean and tidy, and the service was friendly and helpful. Great place to stay. I’d highly recommend visiting and I’ll be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Mara Laguna for just under a week. A few days into the trip, we moved from the two-bedroom to the villa. The grounds are beautiful and the villas are well maintained, and everyone was friendly. Special thanks to the security team, who were especially welcoming and kind.

The place was a good size for our group of six and a good stay for the price. We liked the hummingbirds and iguana on the back deck, and even saw several crocodiles in the Laguna from there. The above-ground pool was a nice distance away, and a handful of places were walkable. The AC worked great, but there were ants all over the kitchen counters and the floors needed a proper clean. Our feet were completely black after walking barefoot on the tile right when we arrived. The area felt safe and was clean overall, and the house was a good size. I slept in the twin room, though, and those beds were horrible: hard, lumpy, and sloping, so my whole body hurt every day. There was just one pillow plus a decorative one. In my opinion, a bed needs at least two pillows for sleeping, so get rid of the decor pillow. I don’t know how the other beds were, but the house was full. It would also help to have two lockboxes with main house keys, one at the front and one at the back. We got locked out, and the manager didn’t give us a correct spare key.
