Kalimera Beach Hotel

The snorkeling trip we booked through the hotel to Silk Caye was a real highlight, fantastic and well organized. The pool was great for relaxing, and we enjoyed the beach bar for drinks overlooking the ocean. Food was consistently good, the hotel was very nice with a relaxed feel, and the staff were friendly throughout our honeymoon in Placencia. A few problems kept the stay from matching what we'd expect at this price. We paid USD 250 for airport transportation through the hotel, but no driver was there when we arrived. We called and were told the driver was stuck in traffic and would be there in about 10 minutes. After waiting another 30 minutes, we called again and got the same answer. It took more than 1.5 hours for another driver to show up. The roads were essentially empty on the drive, so it's hard to see how traffic caused the delay. It felt as if the pickup may have been forgotten. I had emailed two days before arrival to confirm but got no reply. Delays can happen, but communication needed to be much better. We could have taken a taxi if we'd known we would wait 1.5 hours. Housekeeping was only provided on request, which felt unusual for a hotel of this standard and price, where I'd expect it daily. The beach was completely covered in seaweed during our stay, so we didn't go into the ocean at all. That's not the hotel's fault, but it's worth mentioning for a beach property. We still enjoyed the stay thanks to the welcoming staff, food, drinks, and snorkeling. Better communication and more consistent service would have made it a much better experience.

With only a few rooms, Kalimera feels peaceful and relaxing. The staff were friendly and familiar without hovering, just the right balance for the restful vacation I wanted. Our clean room had plenty of cold AC and hot water, and the bed and pillows made for a perfect night's sleep. The hotel is right on the beach, and you can hear the waves through the window screens if you like. The sunrise is right outside your room. There are also excellent food options a short walk up the beach. Kalimera exceeded my expectations.

I loved how quiet Kalimera Beach Hotel felt, with beautiful ocean views and a sunrise that made each morning feel magical. The hotel sits right on the beach. My room was modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, blending comfort with natural touches that suit the charm of Maya Beach. My stay was exceptional from beginning to end.

The small number of rooms makes this charming, unique boutique hotel feel intimate and welcoming. It’s in a great location, the rooms are spotless, meals are delicious, and the staff are so warm. The place is stunning, and I truly loved my stay. I’d happily recommend it.
