Bed & Bike Curacao - Jan Thiel

I’d avoid staying here, mainly because it’s so isolated and because of how the pool rule was handled. I got fined 25€ for swimming after 22 o'clock, with no warning or mention beforehand that it wasn’t allowed. I’d already paid for two weeks in advance, unfortunately, so I stayed the whole time. There’s not much to do nearby. I also asked whether I could move to their hostel in another city for the same price, but that somehow proved too difficult even though it had the same name and owner. In my room, which I had to myself, I kept switching off the AC because I dislike it and sometimes get sick from it, but it would keep getting turned back on somehow. My bed never got cleaned. And when I ordered shrimp satay, the portion sometimes had 10 shrimp and other times just 6, for the same price. There were some good points too, but those issues made this a place I wouldn’t recommend.

Getting around is a big problem here. There’s just one bus for the area, and it comes every two hours; otherwise, there are only two nearby restaurants. The bed curtains are sheer, so they don’t give you privacy or block the light. The bathroom has no outlets, paper towels, or soap, and the shower is set up so anything you can’t hang gets wet. Management also showed no understanding of extenuating circumstances.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the hostel had a quiet but lovely vibe. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were kind and very helpful, and I’d definitely come back. 🙂🙏

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all good, and I loved the restaurant staff. The hospitality and food were great, and I liked the area too. Also, the lady at the front desk with glasses was lovely. She was working this past weekend.
