Brion City Hotel BW Signature Collection

The room I booked for four people had just one double bed, so I had to pay another $15 for an extra bed. A booking for four should come equipped for four without an added charge. The bathroom was noticeably dirty, well below an acceptable standard, and breakfast was poor with little variety. Parking was very hard to find, and nobody sent any directions or guidance in advance. At reception, the young man seemed unprofessional, though the women there were polite and helpful. The location is excellent, but the stay as a whole was a disappointment and fell short of what a hotel should provide.

The shower never got beyond warm, and when the drain had a problem, it still wasn't fixed after I reported it on the first day. The rooms are spacious, but they don't match the standard shown in the hotel photos. The hallways and rooms smelled damp, and breakfast was awful: a few slices of bread, fruit, cheese, and boiled eggs, with food running short all the time. I was surprised by the glowing reviews. This place is really low standard, and anyone hoping for quiet should stay elsewhere.

Our room faced the Queen Emma bridge, which made for a great view, though it could get quite noisy at times. The beds and pillows were very firm and only okay for comfort. Housekeeping sometimes arrived late in the afternoon, but they were happy to bring extra towels or anything else we needed. For the price, it was a great find in a great location.

The front desk staff could be much more welcoming. Apart from Melissa and a couple of the other women, who were lovely and proactive, most stayed seated and looking at their phones even when someone came into the lobby. The rooms were simple and clean, and the hotel is well located. Continental breakfast was very poor.
