The rooftop restaurant served nicely made food and drinks, and they left free bottled water and tea in the room. The location is perfect for shops and dining, and the rooms have good air conditioning and hot water. But the look of the rooms and entrances was a big letdown. The walls are bare, the carpet to the room is filthy, and there’s an odd smell in the hallway. I barely rested because of noise from outdoor music, thin walls, guests above dragging chairs, and people walking past. I was in first-floor room 217, which was a poor spot for the rest I needed. It may suit younger adults, but as an older or well-traveled guest I’d avoid it.

Willemstad was a good location, but things stayed noisy until around 10 at night, so this probably isn’t a fit for early sleepers. We stayed at three hotels in Curacao and Elements Hotel was easily the worst. The room was basic and seemed fairly clean, with a nice bathroom, but the hallway carpet was filthy, looked poorly installed, and came with a nasty smell whenever we entered or left. The safe was stuck open and locked, so we couldn’t use it. There wasn’t a single umbrella on the rooftop, unlike some booking photos, so we had no shade from the hot sun and couldn’t stay long. Both lounge chairs with removable shade covers were broken and needed replacing. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, and there was no top sheet on the bedspread, which is what we’re used to. On the way downstairs to check out the shops, we spotted a can of cat food on an indoor stairway windowsill. It seemed out of place and added to the unclean feel of the hallways. We wouldn’t book again, since there are much better island options in the same price range.

There are lots of dining choices in the hotel, and you get great ocean views along with a lively nightlife. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. If you want to be in the centre of town, this is a great hotel, with all the main tourist sights a five-minute walk from the door.

A lovely boutique hotel, clean and staffed by great people. The location makes it easy to walk to everything downtown. It has a nice atmosphere, great service and lovely music in the evening. The rooftop bar has a great view over the city.

The location is great, and the staff were pretty amazing. After I complained, they went above and beyond over the following days to make our stay better. Still, the rooftop music gets pretty loud, especially Thursday through Sunday. If you need to sleep before midnight, choose somewhere quieter.
