Westwood Motel

The location is good and the staff are friendly, but I had a bad stay. I'd read reviews saying it was quiet, though that really depends on who your neighbors are. The people above me started making noise as soon as they checked in. Things kept dropping on the floor until 1 a.m., then it got noisy again early the next morning. I didn't rest well and could only sleep a little longer in the morning.

I checked in earlier this week for work. The rooms are spacious and the queen-size bed was comfortable, and it was fairly quiet for sleeping beside the highway. But my front door wouldn't close unless I slammed it to latch. Even when locked, it was very drafty at -29. My coworker had similar trouble getting their door to close and latch. The website says pets aren't allowed, but the front desk asked whether I needed a pet-friendly room. I was very discouraged, since I would have brought my pup if I'd known. There also wasn't a convenient way to plug in my truck: one outlet with one cord for every three rooms, not practical in -20 weather.

When travelers get stuck in 100 Milehouse, this is a good place to go. The rooms were updated and clean, stocked with coffee, towels, kitchen tools, and everything else. The hosts were friendly, accommodating, and easy to deal with. They cared about how I was enjoying the room, and the service was great. It's not a hotel chain, which is nice since the profits aren't going to a billionaire down south.

The place was very clean and roomy, and the bed was comfortable. I didn't use the coffee maker or microwave, but it was good to have them available. The small fridge was handy for keeping my insulin and soft drinks cold. I'd definitely consider staying here again.
