The Geodome sits right on the water, and the big soaker tub by the windows fit both of us. We had a candlelit bubble bath together with a spectacular view, while rain tapped on the dome and the lake lapped beside us. We loved having the resort nearly to ourselves midweek, and the sauna made the one-night stay even better. It was a cozy, breathtaking place for a romantic getaway, and the memories will stay with us. We’re looking forward to returning. We could bring our little teacup Yorky because the place was pet friendly from the time we booked. It was already an option during registration, so we didn’t have to ask, which we absolutely loved. We haven’t had that feature anywhere else so far.

We loved the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty, and staying with our dogs made it even more special. The bed was spacious and comfortable, though it squeaked when we moved, likely from regular use. We also noticed a loose kitchen faucet, a cracked wine glass, and an unusual noise from the toilet, which could use a deeper clean and refresh. The door could use WD-40, the patio a quick sweep, and a simple candle would give the room a warm scent on arrival. These small details didn’t take away from our beautiful stay, and we’d still give it five stars. I loved the place enough to try booking for my September birthday, so I was disappointed it was full. We’ll be back if we can find a spot, and would recommend it for a peaceful, scenic getaway.

The views are stunning, and the setting is peaceful and undeniably beautiful. Still, the stay was mixed. When problems came up, there was nobody available to help, which felt frustrating and unsupported. The resort is very isolated, and it felt dark, lonely, and a bit unsettling at night. There was no visible security or activity around, which added to the discomfort. The scenery and atmosphere are impressive, but the lack of service and sense of safety made the stay less enjoyable than I expected.

Cabin #2 was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view is amazing, but that alone didn’t justify $500 CAD a night with all the issues we had. We’d ordered Champagne and firewood online. There was no champagne or firewood when we arrived; after we messaged, we were told the champagne delivery hadn’t come that week and it would be refunded. A message beforehand would have helped. We were told where to get the firewood and had to fetch it ourselves. I shouldn’t have to ask about amenities I’ve paid for. Check-in was odd, with no counter or staff around. The only staff we saw were setting up for an event, and their parking is directly behind Cabin#2, so we heard them arrive and open and close their doors. If there’s an event, expect it to overlook the porch and fireplace area and spill into the green space beside the fireplace. For a quiet getaway, make sure there isn’t one. The shore in front of the cabin is essentially public access, with people walking beyond the fence and direct views into the living room and bedroom. We had to close the blinds, which made the gorgeous view pointless. The gate doesn’t latch and stays ajar, apparently because its latch has been cut off. The main door deadbolt doesn’t line up with its cutout and doesn’t work. The BBQ wobbles and ran out of propane halfway through grilling. You have to wash the dishes before leaving. Cabins #1 and #2 are about five feet apart, though we didn’t notice sound carrying between them. There’s a large gravel ramp from the roadside parking, a bit awkward with heavy bags, though not a major problem.

We’re only three hours into our first night of two, and I’m already disappointed. The views are beautiful and the rooms are clean, but the Wi-Fi and cable don’t work, the walls are so thin we can hear the neighbours, and the light fixtures look like they’re about to fall off. There’s no one answering our calls or emails, and no office where we can speak to anyone. The noise means we aren’t getting the rest and relaxation we came for. We won’t book here again or recommend it.
