Ashcroft River Inn

We only needed one night after the government ordered us to evacuate our home because of Cache Creek flooding. We got situated with Emergency Services in Kamloops, but Mr. Singh refused to refund any of the money. He kept $160 when we were in need. The stay came with a three day contract and damage deposit, totaling $360. The same Mr. Singh who said "I value honesty" looked me in the face while he stole from us. I was born and raised in the town of Ashcroft, and I know who to talk to. I'll tell everyone I know not to stay here. Don't ever stay there. I hope the place fails. It only seems to still be there because of monthly boarders, mostly drunks and idiots who put up with human rights abuses. Shame on you, Mr. Singh.

The room was worn down, and I found quite a few dead bugs around. We paid for it, asked for our money back, but the owner refused. He gave us $50 cash, so we left. I wouldn't recommend it.

We ended up sleeping in our vehicle because he refused to refund our money. The sheets and towels were dirty, and there was no toilet paper. When I pointed this out to the manager, maybe the owner, the customer service was extremely rude. I shouldn't have had to point it out in the first place. Ashcroft River Hotel & Pub is ill advised unless you enjoy dirty sheets and towels and no toilet paper.

The restaurant is closed, and the pub only serves drinks, no food. I don't know how long the restaurant has been closed, but the floor around our table and the chair I sat in had popcorn and crushed chips on them. Who knows when it was last swept. The place is grungy and smelled old and gross. I'm pretty sure my arm stuck to the chair. Not even sure the hotel is open.
