Days Inn Athabasca

I was in RM217 for a week, and the bed had dried blood on it. A week later I have a rash on my back, and I've never been so disgusted. The hotel wouldn't comp even two nights and offered a voucher to stay there again instead. Who would want to return to a place where they found dried blood on the mattress? Please be careful and check the beds thoroughly before sleeping in them.

The rooms were fresh, clean, comfortable, and well organized, thanks to the hardworking housekeeping team. Breakfast was tasty with plenty to choose from. The front desk service made a big difference, especially PAT, who was welcoming, professional, patient, and ready to help. He made check-in easy and explained the Whyndam Rewards benefits, including earning and using points, to my coworkers. Since I'm already a member, he also gave me a bag of chips. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel for its service, cleanliness, and overall experience.

I nearly fell twice on the very slick parking lot, and there was no sand or anything on it. I mentioned it at the front desk, but he ignored me. They also asked for a credit card even though I was told at booking that one wasn't needed. There's no ATM, they won't give cash back, and when I asked for an extra bottle of water because I was thirsty, they refused, even though they put two in the room. Athabasca Lodge might be old, but it's cheaper, has a kitchenette, and its staff are WAY better with customers. I will NOT stay here again.

The room was roomy and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a great stay at Days Inn and would come back for sure. If I could, I'd give it more than five stars. Thank you.
