The plant-based meals are the best I’ve had anywhere, with outstanding quality, taste, variety, and portions that fuel the day and evening. My husband and I just completed our second visit to Grail Springs this year, and we’ve been coming for several years. Each time we walk in, there’s an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. The staff across reception, kitchen, dining room, workshops, hikes, yoga, and treatments are experienced, welcoming, and supportive. Whatever the season, the retreat feels harmonious and full of positive energy. This visit, I took a creative arts workshop, which was outstanding and complemented my spa treatments. My husband and I enjoyed every minute, whether we were there for the peaceful setting or the spa services in nature. I’m looking forward to my annual visit later this year with my daughter. It’s a beautiful, positive gem.

I brought my daughter on this second visit, and we both enjoyed the peaceful setting and the stay. It was lovely, though I still find it quite pricey, especially with add-on services costing extra. The guest rooms could use an update. I know it isn’t meant to be a luxury spa, but the dark communal spaces and dark-stained wood in parts of the washroom make things feel heavy. Lighter tones might make the place feel fresher and brighter. The robes could use an update too. White ones would feel cleaner and more spa-like than the dark brown and black ones we were given, which we chose not to use. The slippers didn’t fit either. I selected small, but they were still too small even though I wear size 4-5 shoes. A few thoughtful changes could better match the experience to the price.

I go every summer, but this time I visited in winter during a massive snowstorm, and it was incredible and very healing. The land has a sacred feel, the buildings are stunning, warm, and cozy, and the setting by the serene lake is beautiful. You can swim or take the supplied canoes and boards out on the water. The vegan food is plentiful and amazing, even for someone like me who doesn’t usually eat vegan, and they’ll adjust meals for sensitivities, preferences, or allergies. The rooms are cozy, many with fireplaces and bathtubs, and the beds are wonderful. There’s a lot more to say, so take a look at the brochure. Most people I’ve met there are repeat guests, which says a lot.

It felt like a lovely community, with guests and staff sharing the experience together. I met some lovely ladies and went along the Grail Springs journey with them. The experts taught me a lot, and I especially enjoyed the evening talks in the great hall. The staff were generous and welcoming, the facilities were amazing, and the food was wonderful, with a new, fun menu each time. I had no idea vegan food could be so varied and delicious. I had a marvellous time and couldn’t recommend Grail Springs more, even if this sounds like a paid ad.

The stay was a reminder that, with practice, peace and serenity are something we can access every day. I’m so grateful for our time at Grail Springs, and we can’t wait to come back. This was our third visit, and it’s taken me until now to write a review because I find the experience hard to put into words. My husband and I spent three magical nights there last week during an ice storm. I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather have been snowed in. Grail Springs felt like a warm hug from the universe, and gave us the break we needed from the stress and fast pace of running a business. From booking through check-in, everything was exceptional. Roslyn and Amanda were so warm and welcoming, and servers Ava and Ashley looked after every need and detail. The vegan food was fantastic and felt like a reset, with snacks always available and staff care showing in every interaction. Laura brought such a bright, rejuvenating presence and led us through a deep, powerful couples bonding ceremony. Jason guided us in healing sessions and yoga. Laverne’s crown and foot massage was incredible, Jen’s facial was amazing, and my husband loved his Thai massage with Sandy.
