Parkside House

Parkside House was super close to lots of places, including the cutest little Dutch store. The room was lovely, and the hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. We had such a comfortable stay and will definitely come back to stay with Steve and Mark next time we're in Barrie. I'd highly recommend their property if you're in the area.

I felt safe staying alone in a ground-floor room, and it was quiet and cozy with a comfortable bed. I booked the suite with the soaking tub and really enjoyed it. I was in town for a procedure at RVH that meant I needed to relax the day before. For my stay, I'd give it five out of five and would come back. I didn't explore the area, so I can't comment on the location.

I stayed here on a business trip. The room was okay, but the stains and lack of attention to detail were disappointing. Some things would be easy to fix: change the light fixtures, replace the office chair covered in questionable stains, clean the couch or replace a cushion, and patch the chipped and cracked walls. Around 3 am, the couple below us had extremely loud sex. I mentioned it to the owner, who said one of them was in the army and they don't see each other often. Sorry, that isn't an excuse. I had to get up at 5 am for a long drive. I really wouldn't recommend this place.

It was a quiet night's sleep in a safe neighborhood, and the hosts were friendly. The place was spacious, really clean, and thoughtfully furnished. What a find, I was pleasantly surprised to get this lovely guesthouse instead of a regular hotel. I'll be back in two weeks and plan to check out the eateries just minutes away. Thank you Steve and Mark.
